Head of Business Development

Go-to-market · Remote, US · Full-time

Frontier brings advanced AI and expert execution to the hardest problems in business. The systems a company runs on record what happened. The decisions that matter most still get worked out by hand, in spreadsheets, after the fact: what the quarter will look like, which driver moved the margin, what the plan is worth when the assumptions change. We are building the platform that closes that gap, with AI agents and analytical models working on a company’s live operational data, built so the people accountable for the number can examine every assumption behind it.

We start with finance and operations teams running NetSuite, where the data is rich and the questions are hard. Customers and design partners use the platform every week for live P&L forecasting, scenario planning against the real ledger, and analytics built inside their own operation. Every engagement pairs the platform with an expert team that builds the first capabilities alongside the customer, takes responsibility for the business result, and leaves the customer’s team able to run what was built. We closed our seed round this year, and we are building the commercial engine now.

You are the first commercial hire, and the way Frontier sells is yours to define. Nobody has written the playbook for this. Finance leaders know AI will change how their function runs, and very few have seen it work on their own ledger. Most will meet the category for the first time in your meeting. You put it in front of them. You open the conversations, build the partner channel, and carry each deal from first contact to a scoped engagement, with the founder beside you on every early deal.

What you’ll do

  • Open the first enterprise conversations with CFOs, finance directors and operations leaders, starting from the problem that costs them most.
  • Carry a deal from first contact to a scoped engagement: qualification, the business case, the commercial terms.
  • Build the partner channel through the NetSuite advisory and implementation firms whose clients keep asking for AI their current tools can’t deliver.
  • Run demonstrations with the forward deployed engineer, so every conversation shows the platform working on the customer’s own problem.
  • Write the proposals: what Frontier will build, what it will be worth, and what the customer’s team owns at the end of it.
  • Bring what customers say back into the product, in enough detail to change what gets built.

What you bring

  • Experience selling to companies that run NetSuite, directly or through the NetSuite partner ecosystem. You know how these finance teams buy and who advises them.
  • Mid-market or enterprise software sales, on deals you opened yourself rather than inherited.
  • Fluency in finance: you can talk through a close calendar or a forecast without translation.
  • You have sold something new, before the case studies existed, and you would choose that again.
  • Comfortable selling a platform together with an expert engagement, where the buyer is buying a capability rather than a licence.
  • You build your own pipeline. Outbound, ecosystem and network come first; there is no inbound to work yet.
  • You write well. The proposal, the follow-up and the note after the call are as much the job as the calls.

What this is not

  • A territory with inbound leads, an SDR and a finished deck. You build the pipeline and the materials.
  • A finished product sold off a price list. Each engagement is scoped to the customer’s problem, and the product moves with what you learn.
  • A NetSuite add-on sale. NetSuite is where we start. The buyer is buying a new capability for how their business runs.

Working context

  • Remote, US. Full-time.
  • On-target earnings $200,000–$250,000, base plus commission, and equity in the company.
  • Reports to the founder, who works every early deal with you.
  • First in this function at Frontier — you define how the company sells, and the function grows under you.
  • To apply, send a short note on the hardest thing you have sold and who bought it. No cover letter.
